For both industrial and domestic cables, Benvic compounds are used to provide sheathing and insulation. They are used in semi-rigid and flexible cables, with service temperatures of between 70 and 105°C. They are chosen for their resistance to thermal ageing, chemicals (aluminium screen, hydrocarbons, oils, and surfactants), weather, abrasion and fire (L.O.I 25% - 33%). Their low smoke release and reduced HCl emissions are also important factors. They can also be formulated without heavy metals. For domestic use, other features such as transparent sheathing or the option of a glossy or matt soft touch finish make them a natural choice.
