Over the last few years, there has been a shift of consciousness about climate change and humanity’s environmental impact. Benvic Group is playing its part in this global movement. Our sustainability strategy is focused on the conservation and preservation of our environment for future generations. It is grounded on our commitments to respect human rights and ensure responsible business practices across our markets. In order to reduce our environmental footprint, we favour a three-pronged strategy.

Carbon neutrality

Achieve carbon-neutrality in the years to come, by monitoring our CO2 emissions and collaborating in decarbonization projects. Benvic is already carbon-neutral on scopes 1 & 2 of GHG emissions.

Bio based and innovative

One promising way to address the challenges of the future is through research and innovation. With Plantura, we are proud to offer a line of bio-sourced products which respect and build upon the riches of the natural world. These biopolymers offer a very low carbon impact whatever the end product cycle life. With this line of products, Benvic is also path-finding the way to successful compostable manufacturing. Although investment in recycling is crucial, bio-based, compostable products have an even lower ecological impact. The composting process allows for a significant change of paradigm and dramatically reduces the waste production per capita.

Local and Circular

Our daily commitment to circular economy is expressed through the implementation of responsible industrial policies, the preservation of natural resources and the repurposing of our by-products.

Our local entities are shouldering the lion’s share of our efforts. They are working hard to improve energy efficiency, optimize raw materials consumption and reduce waste, water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and more generally the impact of manufacturing processes on air, water and soil quality.

Recycling

Our engineering know-how allows us to integrate regenerated base material into our compounds and to provide an effective solution in line with the principles of the circular economy, without any loss of quality. We continuously invest in the enhancement of the recycling process to make it more efficient and profitable.

We collect scraps and end-of-life products from our customers, and out of spec products, prototypes or test products in our own plants. We then work with our customers to co-design and manufacture the best recycled solution for their needs. After the end-product has been used to its fullest extent, it is destined to be recycled again in our plant.
